Wind in the Mane
By Barbara Daley

The Canadian Performance Futurity embarks on its inaugural competition year with the launch of the Wind in the Mane logo. This brand was commissioned by a professional designer specifically for the national, all inclusive program, which commences in the summer of 2006.

Sporting vibrant and youthful colours along with a clean flowing font, the design captures the essence of the program which is to feature young horses in competition.

The pictorial graphic of a horse facing left and toward the word Canadian is a tribute to its beginnings; all horses participating in the program will be Canadian bred. The wind in the mane flows in the direction of the future. The colours found in the graphic relate to the official discipline colours of the Fédération Equestre International (FEI), which echo the hopes and dreams of the owners and breeders of the horses participating in the program. The Canadian Performance Futurity will provide a launching ground which showcases talented horses - horses that may one day go on to compete in international classes.

The Canadian Performance Futurity will offer classes in three zones across Canada – Pacific, Prairie and Eastern – and in the disciplines of Hunter, Jumper & Dressage. This first year will offer classes for four year olds with $3,000 in prize money per class, plus breed specific bonuses. Additional classes for five year olds will be offered in 2007. All registered and Canadian bred horses are eligible.

More information, along with details on nominating a horse will be found at www.CanadianPerformanceFuturity.com .
